Well, after making some tests, it seems clear that my system doesn't like mixxx x86 (32bit) builds :)

Fails equally on both, 1.10.0 official x86 release and the alpha2 (on a clean install). Fails even before asking for the songs folder... just click on the desktop icon, wait a little for the dll's to load and BSOD.

Instead, with another alpha (the waveform one, rev2718 - x64) works perfectly fine.

Next step is getting a working x86 build compiled (could take some time to do the right dev environment), and then try to put some traces on it, but at least now i'm almost sure the next release will work (in x64 form) :)

shalty : ew that is nasty... we should not be causing BSODs. Any debug information you can get us on that would be great.

Right now the x64 build of Mixxx is broken because we don't have our build server set up to include all the new dependencies on x64 yet. We'll get that fixed asap.

Well, i don't know still if it's a problem of mixxx or the combination with some driver (computers are so complex sometimes), the only thing that i know for sure is that i've never had those BSOD before, and it only happens with the x86 builds of mixxx :) (so it's not a new bug on the alpha)

I'm in the process of building mixxx myself for further testing (had some issues with the lack of libprotobuf, but i'm hopping to get around it).

Well, to let the thread for other things, i've reported the bug -> https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/998809

Doing this, i've found some minor issues with the building of the win32 version, so i probably will try to edit the wiki (if it's possible).

On 12.04 you should install these libprotobuf5 debs from lucid:
64-bit: http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/amd64/ ... 5/download
32-bit: http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/i386/l ... 5/download

One thing I should note -- we discovered an issue with installing the Mixxx VAMP beat detector on Linux so I think that all linux installs won't have the fancy new beat detection. In fact -- they won't have beat detection at all! Also note that on Ubuntu 12.04 MP3 broadcasting (on all Mixxx versions) has a bug that requires a workaround detailed here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3709#p13954

We should have an alpha3 or beta soon that will fix this issue.

Actually, what's in trunk as of r3084 is just a test script, so we actually don't have any HID scripts yet (though I'm now working on one for the EKS Otus.)

Hello Pegasus,

I downloaded an otus.js file from the mixxx wiki. It doesn't work with the new mixxx 11 alpha. Actually the variables HID.... seem to be not defined. As far as I have understood, I need two files for the configuration with mixxx, which work well together. Could you post or send me a working version of the otus HID mapping? I would like to adapt it for the EKS OTUS RAW. Or will the mapping developed for Mixxx 1.11 work with OTUS, OTUS+ and OTUS RAW?

Looking forward to get your reply.

OTUS presets and the associated script-based packet framework are in development as we speak. As soon as they're ready, they'll go into trunk for the next alpha release. The OTUS preset should work as-is with the OTUS+, and it should mostly work with the RAW, but I have a RAW as well and will ensure that it works 100%.
