hi, I am a new user of mixxx and would like to try the betaversion. But it seems that only the ubuntu lucid link is working, all other links are unavailable. Is this a problem from my side? Hope somebody can help me.
Thanks,
Gunter

Please try again, apparently the server had a few hiccups.

When a good number (ideally all) of these bugs are fixed.

My one-and-only issue with beta 1 is the crashing while in AutoDJ. Desktop does it bad, (Windows 7) laptop runs beautifully (Windows 7), and the other laptop (XP) I'm afraid to try -- still using alpha 2. THAT is okay, except the list headings go back to default each time I boot MIXXX, and one of the sample decks does not work. BUT -- overall it's doing the job well. If there's a fix for the crash (and I didn't see it on the bug list, but others have mentioned it here) I can keep using beta 1 and be happy. MIXXX in it's "unfinished" form is running CIRCLES around the paid software I was using previously. Night and day; MIXXX is far superior.

I just loaded the beta today. I completely removed the previous versions from my computer, as I have had registry entries back from 1.9.0, 1.9.2, 1.10beta, 1.10, 1.11alpha and a couple of other random builds. So I completely removed everything and started from scratch.

Everything seems solid thus far. I haven't dabbled with the autodj function yet, but it seems that is starting to have a lot of attention on the forum. I'm kind of a control freak as far as my transitions are concerned so I have not dabbled with it, but I have had people ask about adjusting mappings that will add tracks to the autodj queue so I suppose I should get myself familiar with that function.

Since you guys didn't go with my mapping on the DJ2Go, I would recommend making the pitch slider normal and not invert... It's -0.16 off so it can be fixed if you just put it on normal and have the pitch slider direction changed in the preferences. That seems to be the only thing that should be changed with that particular mapping. other than that, I enjoy the custom use of the enter / back / pitch up / pitch down buttons... I probably won't use this script, because I have the akai lpd8 so I don't need to use the pitch + / - for fx and low bypass... But for others who don't have an additional controller, this script should work great... Especially the loop feature mapped on the back and enter buttons... So if you guys just change the pitch slider to normal, then it should be solid on that front.

Other than that, the waveforms are awesome... All works well... when I use the direct sound I need to adjust the latency to 23.3 and when I have it go through my 2x4 audio/midi interface I can lower the latency for better performance... which is to be expected.

I will run it a little more and report back.

Hi Folks, first of all let me congratulate you for your excellent work and contribution to the opensource world. I had following DJ software from the GDAM and TerminatorX era until now, and you guys have revived the opensource emotion on the DJ arena from that times, making your project the most evolved from my perspective.

Second, maybe this is not the right thread on forum, I'm new on it; but I want to share a project I found, in regard of the Key Detection, that for what I have read, is one of the bluprint objectives of 1.12. This project is a wonderful replace to commercial software like Mixed In Key, and its quite shure you already contacted the original author. The project itself is GPL'ed including the Detection Algorithms, and it gave me wonderful results to achive Key Detection on my tracks.

Here is the URL: http://www.ibrahimshaath.co.uk/keyfinder/

Thanks in advance and, my best vibes and Wishes to continue this magnificent effort.

Hello everyone!

I'm fed up of not having any access to my turntables so I've decided to install mixxx (as xwax is purely digital vinyl). I'm interested in testing out the beta yet would also like to install the stable version. I've added the two PPAs but I don't seem to be able to apt-get the two different versions. Do I need to compile one from source or something similar? I'm rather lazy and not overly keen on that solution. Knowing me it'll go horribly wrong ;P

edit: About the new waveforms- neat that they move with the gain but when I have the track peaking at 0db (I'm assuming yellow is 0db. The VU meters are not labelled) the waveform doesn't actually fit in the player, it is too tall! *new edit* I found the option to change it. I would like to be able to turn it down a little more though.
Also I'm surprised by how demanding it is on my rubbishy processor in comparison to xwax, 40% when idling and jumping up to 55% when playing 2 tracks. :o

Hi i've just DL beta 1.11 and have problems with midi mappings:(
I try to copy mappings from 1.10 where they work ok. In 1.11 they dont work :(
If I try to make new mappings only "sliders" for mixer, pitch work ok. If i map buttons for Play etc. they dont work.
I work on Ipad.
As i remember when i work on 1.10 i have to change the value from Normal to button. In 1.11 there is no such thing right now :(
