First Beat "Lead In" for Vinyl Users

Postby boc » Sun Mar 27, 2011 8:03 am

i was wondering if i just could not find an on/off switch for this "lead in" feature or is it not yet implemented? dunno how i can describe it cuz im not talking about the one feature for the timecode record to set the lead in seconds so i attached a picture instead to give an example (its highlighted with the green rounded rectangle)

so its the part of the tune which "doesnt exist" and is just "created" by software for cueing the first beat when using timecode vinyl control
in mixxx now i just can release the record and if the very first kick/hat/whatever is not a few seconds later then i cant cue it like i did the old fashioned way with my normal vinyl records. i can handle it if i have to but i d like to do it the proper way if its possible

Hey boc,

This feature is coming in 1.10.0 -- along with a bunch of other vinyl-control improvements. 1.10.0 is planned to release in the first week of May if all goes according to plan.

Cheers,
RJ Ryan

Well, you can see the milestone page for Mixxx 1.10.0 here to see the bugs and "blueprints" we're working on: https://launchpad.net/mixxx/+milestone/1.10.0

A lot of the features are in rapid development right now -- our "feature freeze" is April 8th, so we'll have a better idea of what made the cut by then. As per our developer meeting last month, we set forth this tentative roadmap for 1.10.0: http://mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/developm ... section110

Stuff on that list may or may not be done in time for the freeze -- after the freeze the team only works on fixing bugs so that we don't introduce new bugs as we lead up to the scheduled release on May 8th.

Once our progress is more clear, we'll get a blog post out :)
