[Feature request] import playlists to autodj que

Postby searchie » Sun Jun 05, 2011 2:06 am

I have been following the development of mix for a few years and believe that one day it will as good or better than most of the commercial, closed source offerings. I am listening to a playlist using auto dj as I write this and have a couple of tdeas about how the feature could be made more easy to use. I am posting here in case someone knows whether these ideas have already been implemented in 1.9 or 1.10.

I think it would be usefull if in addition to populating the autodj que manually one could just copy a whole mixxx playlist to the autodj que. This could be done by adding a "copy to autodj" menu item in the context (right click) menu for playlists. For removable media, I prefer to save playlists on the same media that the audio files are stored on and I think it would be really neat if I could just attach a device, find a playlist on it, import the playlist into the autodj que and start playing the songs until I'm ready to take over. This could be implemented by adding a "import playlist" button to the autodj pane that, would open a dialog allowing users to browse their media for playlists.

Does anybody know if importing playlists to the autodj que is planned or has already been implemented?

Hey,

with Mixxx 1.10 you can import playlists and crates using PLS and M3U. A direct import to autodj hasn't been realized yet (will be done for Mixxx 1.11). Once you have imported a playlist/crate you can easily drag and drop the tracks to AutoDJ.
