No Midi Controller availible

Every time I go into the preferences menu to select a midi controller it says that none are available even though I have a supported controller plugged in. I tried downloading a mapping on the forum and extracted it to the same result. I am using a Numark mixrack on Windows Vista Home Basic.

That's strange. Does Numark provide a Windows driver for the controller? If so, try installing it and see if it then appears in Mixxx. If it still doesn't, does the device appear in any other DJ software?
