Stanton SCS3 and pitch sensitivity

Postby lzap » Wed Jul 28, 2010 5:57 pm

Hello guys,

first of all thanks for Mixxx. Fantastic piece of software. And with Stanton SCS3 System its simply amazing. I bought these just because of MIxxx :-)

I would like to configure the pitch controller sensitivity. There is possibility to change pitch range already thats ok. I like 8 % which is on Technics - thats fine. I do not want to change that. But what I mean is sensitivity of pitch change (addition or substration) when I relatively move my finger. I think its too high in the default setting and for me (fat fingerz) its too hard to make a fine pitch adjustment. Can I do that with Mixxx 1.8 trunk? Are there any plans to allow this? I would vote for this with all ten fingers of mine :-)

And second question - is there any 3M mapping with all eight trigger buttons configured to eq-kills? Since I have 3SCS system I would love that. I am asking before I try to create my own mapping.

Make sure and tell Stanton that for us, will ya? ;)

Do you know that if you hold down the current mode button (vinyl, EQ, or whatever is currently selected,) the pitch slider makes fine adjustments (becomes alot less sensitive) for exactly this situation. (A bit like zooming up.)

If you want to change the coarse adjustment sensitivity, you can just edit the .js file and search for S2relative, then look for the comment about reducing sensitivity, and increase the denominator (number under the fraction/after the slash) to make it less sensitive.)

And second question - is there any 3M mapping with all eight trigger buttons configured to eq-kills?

No, there isn't. But it's a piece of cake to change. Open the 3m's XML file and search for back, fwd, cue_default, and play for both decks and change them to filterHighKill, filterMidKill, and filterLowKill as you like. Save the file, start Mixxx, reload the mapping, and you'll be good to go.

Well, SCS3 have some bugs - power problems (even when using the "internal USB HUB") and A/C switching problem (waiting until somebody from Stantin will send me fixed firmware). So I wont tell them right now :-)

Wow thats a piece of cake. I will modify that cos I like much much finer pitch. This is great.
