I have had it installed I just wanted to make sure I had the correct one. When I go to the finder and hit shift+command+G I still get the same thing.

Well, somehow your Lame installation went wrong or you try to access the wrong path in Finder.

I would try to reinstall Lame:
* Download Lame for Intel (see previous posts) and unzip. You should get Lame 3.98.4 universal x86_64 i386.pkg
* Install Lame 3.98.4 universal x86_64 i386.pkg by double-clicking. Put in your admin credentials if asked by the installer. The installer should give you a "The installation was completed successfully" message.
* Verify the install was successful. Open the "Terminal" application and type the following into the terminals command-prompt
Code: Select all
file /usr/local/lib/libmp3lame.dylib
This should give
Code: Select all
/usr/local/lib/libmp3lame.dylib: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures
/usr/local/lib/libmp3lame.dylib (for architecture x86_64):   Mach-O 64-bit dynamically linked shared library x86_64
/usr/local/lib/libmp3lame.dylib (for architecture i386):   Mach-O dynamically linked shared library i386

* If so, the lame install is OK.
* Restart Mixxx and try to record/stream in MP3

This is what's coming up in Terminal: trent-washburns-computer:~ trenttwashburn$ file /usr/local/lib/libmp3lame.dylib
/usr/local/lib/libmp3lame.dylib: cannot open `/usr/local/lib/libmp3lame.dylib' (Permission denied)

I have that libmp3lame file on my computer but the "lib" folder is protected or something. I moved it to the Mixxx folder. I double clicked on that dylib file and here's what popped up in Terminal: Last login: Sat Apr  7 19:14:54 on console
/Users/trenttwashburn/Desktop/Mixxx/libmp3lame.dylib ; exit;
trent-washburns-computer:~ trenttwashburn$ /Users/trenttwashburn/Desktop/Mixxx/libmp3lame.dylib ; exit;
-bash: /Users/trenttwashburn/Desktop/Mixxx/libmp3lame.dylib: cannot execute binary file
logout

[Process completed]

Did you actually made a fresh Lame install as suggested in the previous post or not? Did you put in your admin credentials when installing?
What is the output of
Code: Select all
sudo ls -l /usr/local/lib/

Also moving around the /usr/local/lib/ folder wont work since Mixxx looks at this specific location. And how could you even move the folder around if you do not have permission to access? Just strange , i think your file permissions are messed up.

Regardless of the Lame issue it might be a good idea to repair your file permissions.
Open Disk Utility (/Applications/Utilities/). Select your Mac OS X startup volume in the column on the left of the Disk Utility window, then click the First Aid tab. Click the Repair Disk Permissions button.

I didn't move the file from the /usr/local/lib/ folder because I can't access it. I saved the .dylib file to my desktop so I know I have it. Since I can't access that /usr/local/lib/ folder I can't fix the permissions issue. I have a friend who has Mixxx on his mac and he can't access that either. The only difference is that he can broadcast for some reason and I still can't. And yes I did a fresh install.

Also, this is what comes up when I enter that code in Terminal:

total 1488
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 754564 Dec 23 2008 libmp3lame.dylib
-rwxrwxr-x 1 root wheel 829 Mar 13 2011 libmp3lame.la
trent-washburns-computer:~ trenttwashburn$

I fixed it! Entered sudo chmod 755 /usr/local/lib in Terminal and that did it.
