New sound card

Postby steve79 » Sun Apr 08, 2012 6:42 pm

Hi,I'm new to mixxx.been using vinyl for many years but wanna use vinyl control for my mp3s.
Question is ,will one sound card ( m audio 2496)be good enough for vinyl control ?
Thanks ,I'm stumped :)

Did a bit more research ,seems the m audio 2496 won't have enough inputs/outputs for vinyl control,
Can anyone confirm this please ?
Thanks

Mixxx can use multiple sound cards, but it's not recommended due to clock skew. Your best bet is to pick up a card with at least four inputs (two stereo pairs) for vinyl control, and four outputs (two stereo pairs) for Master and Headphone mix, or Deck 1 and Deck 2 if you're using an external mixer.

Hi, I'm looking for a firewire sound card with 4 inputs and 4 outputs to use with turntables, any suggestion? Thanks in advance!

Stanton's FinalScratch Open (the ScratchAmp 2) is a good bet.

Thanks for your reply! With a google I found that ScratchAmp 2 is perfect, but it seems that it is discontinued, is there any alternative to that? With:
1. firewire
2. 4 input / 4 output
3. phono preamp
