Importing from external File Manager

Postby JohnS » Sun Dec 07, 2008 4:03 am

Just getting started. The manual states that songs can be dragged to the playlines from an "External File Manager". My library is stored on an external hard drive, with different genres stored in different folders. Addditionally, some cuts are only listed as "Track 1", or "Track 2" as that was they way they were ripped in and I haven't been able to get caught up on the re-naming yet. Can someone explain the External File Manager feature to me. Many thanks!

O.k., duh! The Browser mode for the library seeme to work, but I can't seem to see my external hard drive, only the folders on my C: drive.

Hi John,

By "external file manager", we mean Windows Explorer ie. what pops up when you double-click on your external harddrive in Windows. On OS X, it's called Finder, and on Linux it's called something else. To say that another way, we're saying that you should be able to drag a file from _outside_ Mixxx and drop it onto the library part of Mixxx's window.

Hope this helps!
