libasound not found

Postby larry104 » Fri Jan 23, 2009 9:18 pm

Hi,
scons gives me the following error:

Did not find libasound (aka. libasound2), exiting

But, libasound is installed in /lib64. Any ideas how to tell scons where it will find libasound? /btw I tried to set LIBPATH but it does not make a difference.

Thanks for any help.

hmmm just a wild guess - as i'm not deep into such things:
for building things from source you need the sources (or at least some headers) from dependend libs too. If thats true then - e.g using debian based distros - you'd need something like libasound-dev besides the already installed libasound.
cheers, wudligbauer

Good catch - I missed that.

yum install alsa-lib-devel did the trick in my case

Thanks.
