Getting first midi controller hare

Postby tospace » Sun Apr 01, 2012 1:03 am

Right now I have traktor 2 and I like it allot. I use all 4 effects groups and pretty much every other control that it lets you change on the screen. I want to start using samples more/ be able to switch to deck c and d. Scratching isn't a big deal but I mine aswell start out on something thats cdj like. I don't know how to set up serato with just a keyboard and mouse but if what I get supports it I'll try it out. And if mixxx one day has all the effects and things I need I will for sure use it.

Originally I didn't even care about tables, I just wanted fx controls and a good mixer. Now especially after seeing the ddj ergo I'm starting to think it might be good and fun to start out with some tables. So what do you guys think about the ddj ergo?

It looks pretty awesome and a bit pricey to me... I don't know if its the marketing or what but I think its worth it. It seems like it has a quality design and some unique features, perfect for learning and it can plug in play for pretty much all the programs I'll use. Another reason I like it is because the tables look big unlike those tiny baby ones that some of them have.

I might get a Kontrol X1 or something to go with it also.

So what do y'all think? If I ask my friend he would just tell me to get an ableton controller... maybe some day I'll use ableton with sarato/mixxx/or traktor together but for now I want to learn the basics of turntable style mixing.
