Mapping a Korg PadKontrol to Mixxx

Postby waxmatics » Fri Apr 27, 2012 9:38 pm

I have been playing around with Mixxx for a little while now and have accomplished things that I thought were impossible for me to do a couple of years ago. I figured out how to run mix with control vinyl and 2 separate interfaces, but my current en-devour is mapping a Korg PadKontrol with mixxx, a bit of frustration has ensued. I have attempted to use the midi learn function, and am aware of the possibility that I am going about it all the wrong way. I have gone into preferences and pretty much just hit the midi learn button, tweaked the pads and knobs to no avail. I am doing it on a mac book running snow leopard and in mixxx 1.8.0. I was wondering if you, the peeps of the mixxx, forum had any little gems of knowledge to give me on how to set it up or what I am doing wrong. I would like to avoid having to code it out because I have coded in java and in html (not in a very long time though), but I have no experience with xml. I really not only would love to be able to use them in conjunction, having access to only one of the two interfaces that I did before (only 2 inputs unfortunately), but also being able to post a mapping of this lovely little midi controller on this site for everyone.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks,
Mitch

What OS are you on? Try running Mixxx from a command prompt with the --midiDebug option and see if Mixxx is actually getting data from the controller (it doesn't sound like it.)
