Importing Custom Mapping

Postby BigBallsBoydie » Sun Sep 25, 2011 2:42 pm

Hi there.
I'm a total newcomer to Mixxx. I downloaded it a few nights ago and spent a good while mapping out the buttons for it to work with my Behringer DDM4000. I then saved my mapping as a .xml file. Since then however I've changed my operating system from windows 7 to ubuntu 11 and when I installed Mixxx and tried to copy my .xml file into the midi folder it says I don't have permission to do this.
Any ideas how to get around this would be greatly appreciated. I'm a total newcomer to linux to so try not to be too technical please.

Cheers,
Boydie

If you're trying to copy to the global /usr/share/mixxx folder, you need to do it as root, so at a terminal, just enter
Code: Select all
sudo cp file.xml /usr/share/mixxx/midi
and that should take care of it.
