Help for someone new to Mixxx

Postby boozebag_on_tour » Fri Sep 30, 2011 8:39 am

Firstly I have to say that I am impressed with Mixxx.

In the past I have had CDJ800s and Hercules. I recently bought a MacBook Pro (2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 with 4GB 1333 MHz DDr3 memory) and am looking to get the software to start my own DJn at home. Nothing serious. I do not know what controllers I need. I am very hands on and like having my own mixer. I have an amp and speakers and really want to start mixing with Mixxx as my platform. I suppose my questions are:

Do I need a sound card to listen to each deck seperately? If so which one for my MacBook Pro?
Can I have a controller/mixer to enable me to still have the hands on feel (almost like the Hercules, although more advanced, but for the MacBook Pro)?

Any answers are well appreciated!
