Playlist Functionality

Postby jloram » Thu Sep 22, 2011 4:01 pm

Hi all~

I'm new here and I love the program! I'm wondering if there is a way to set it up so when a song ends, the next song in the playlist loads?
Also, is there a way to burn a playlist to a CD? Thanks!

Drag some tracks into the Auto DJ for automatic mixing.
The Auto DJ queue is a special playlist that contains extra controls for enabling automatic mixing. Toggling the “Enable Auto DJ” button within this view will tell Mixxx to automatically load the next song from this playlist when the current song is nearly finished, and crossfade into it. Mixxx will continue to automatically mix until the Auto DJ playlist is empty.

Burning playlists to a CD is currently not possible.
The Mixxx Manual, Wiki and FAQ are the best place to start for documentation and support.

But Mixxx 1.10 will include the ability to export playlists in CUE (and I think PLS) format, which your CD burning software could then use to make an audio CD. Note that if you want to record the transitions and effects as well, you would instead use the Record Mix feature, then just burn the resulting sound file to CD.

Hi Jus,
Thanks for the tip, but I'm looking for the player to load the song not start playing it. It's a function I would need for what I do. Currently, when a song ends it just sits there...I'd love to have the next song in the list load up. It would even be cool to have a playlist under each player! Any chance that could be worked in? I know I'm dreaming :)

Pegasus,

Sounds good and looking forward to that!

This is only slightly related, but I would love to load two songs into one deck for seamless playback. This is for songs where one track is the "intro" to the next. Currently I have no way to play these two-part songs without doing some offline editing. Again, it's a 1% case, so I do'nt really expect it to be a priority, but it sure would be handy in some cases.

I use a program called BPM Studio & they have a playlist under each player. You have the option of the current song ending and the next song loads and cues OR the next song starts playing. This is more than slightly related to what I want in functionality so good point. Here's a link to a screenshot of it.

Although BPM Studio has better (faster) latency along the above features, I MUCH prefer Mixxx as a player!!! I would love to start using Mixxx soley for my DJ biz!
