Mixxx on PC-BSD

Postby happyshow » Thu Dec 01, 2011 8:54 pm

Is there any chance that Mixxx can be ported or compiled for PC-BSD?

I'll throw out a vote for PC-BSD too been meaning to try it as its seems to be looking like a nice FBSD desktop.

Given that Mixxx can be built for Mac as well as Linux, I don't see why any of the BSDs shouldn't work: the compilation procedure is pretty straightforward, and I don't think there's anything Linux-specific among the dependencies. I can provide my buildscript if anybody needs any additional help or hints for compiling (I use Slackware, but there's nothing really Slackware specific in the script except for the last couple lines that produce the package).

Yup, there are people who run Mixxx on BSD. We don't support it and won't provide packages, but it will definitely compile and run fine.
The Mixxx Manual, Wiki and FAQ are the best place to start for documentation and support.
