Vestax VCI-100 MKII Support

Postby bframe5 » Thu Apr 14, 2011 12:20 am

Does anyone know if the new Vestax VCI-100 MKII is supported?

Compared to the previous version, the only real HW difference is that it includes an internal sound card.
Firmware might be updated, but not sure about that...

Looking to buy a controller, and the VCI-100 MKII is at the top of my list, but I would really like to use it with Mixx. :D

It's not specifically mentioned here:

http://mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/hardware_compatibility

so it's probably not "supported." but you could use the midi learning wizard to some percentage of "supported." ;-)

I would say just get a VCI-100 and a Native Instruments Audio2DJ.. that's what I did. works well enough.

As long as the MIDI messages it sends are the same as the original, it should work just fine. If you're using it with Linux though, make sure the sound card is supported by ALSA.

unfortunately they are very different.
i am planning on making a 100 mk2 mapping, starting somewhere next week.
but i saw vci-100mk2 compatibility in the mixxx roadmap. how far is that away?
and is there anybody who has worked on 100mk2 mapping yet to support?
