External audio/turntable passthrough and software Pre amp

Hi this is my first post on this forum.

I was wondering if the software preamp used for vinyl control would also work with external turntable pass through in the bug/feature here https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/1.10/+bug/355945 . I hope this makes sense.

I also have another question: How is the software preamp implemented?

Given the difference in level between phono and line, the induced noise in the software preamp would in most cases be unacceptable for listening directly. It's provided as a last resort for vinyl time code users. So while it could be used in the external pass-through mode, it would likely sound like crap (unless you had a $1000 sound card or something with an extremely low noise floor,) so wouldn't be worth doing.

Thanks for your reply. I didnt know whether or not to start a new thread so im posting here.

What is the current situation with the aux/vinyl passthrough feature/bug? I have compiled a few branches but cannot seem to work out how to test this feature with the compiled branch.
Can someone tell me what branche(s) to compile and how to test this feature/bug? I would like to help with Mixxx development in particular this feature for a start but i dont how to go about this.

Hey Brase can you explain how you setup your turntables with the maya 44 for mixxx, i cant get the timecodes to work. What are your settings? Id really appreciate it.

I think its pretty different & little to difficult to working with given timecodes !
