Hey everyone,
I've just bought myself a new turntable (Pioneer proDJ DJ-3500) and have borrowed a friend's traktor scratch vinyl to try out with Mixxx.
The turntable is running into the RCA inputs of my Cakewalk UA-1G USB interface. I get a signal that's about 40dB below 0 but even with Mixxx's turntable preamp disabled I am still getting a nice 'donut' on the signal quality indicator. When I boost the preamp about 30dB or so the donut goes green and almost perfect (based on what I've seen in other screenshots), plus the rotating line appears. So this indicates to me that the signal I'm getting should be clear enough to at least begin playing a track.
However I'm not getting any control at all, i.e. the song won't play when the vinyl is 'spinning' supposedly in the signal quality window. This is the case whether I use Abs/Rel/Const mode or Off/One/Hot-cueing modes. Is there some other option I have to enable to enable to get control going (I've looked pretty hard)? Or do I need an absolutely perfect signal and therefore my problem is the lack of hardware preamp..?
I'm running Mixxx 1.10.0 64 bit (tried 32 bit) on Windows 7. Audio output works fine and I can play songs fine using the mouse...
Really doing my head in... possibly a bug?
