Hi everyone, I ran into a problem with Mixxx 1.10 and am not sure if I found a bug or not.
Short version:For me, vinyl control is disabled in 64-bit but not 32-bit Mixxx on OSX. I've replaced the App Store version with the website version; so what's going on?
Longer version with more details:
I decided it was time to try out vinyl control in Mixxx for OSX. I had previously downloaded Mixxx 1.9 from the Mac App store, and I understand from this Pegasus post that vinyl control is disabled in the app store version. I followed the instructions in that post and trashed the App store version of Mixxx, then went and downloaded 1.10 64-bit from Mixxx.org.
Unfortunately the same problem showed up - in preferences, vinyl control was disabled. Thinking that this was a configuration issue, I trashed the Mixxx 1.10 app, as well as the ~/.Mixxx folder and the Preferences/Mixxx and Application Support/Mixxx folders in /Library and ~/Library. as far as I know, that should clean up all traces of Mixxx.
I redownloaded and reinstalled Mixxx 1.10 from the website, but same problem - vinyl control is disabled. I tried looking through the source but I don't speak C++ very well so I didn't have any luck finding out why this was happening.
On a lark, I tried downloading and installing the 32-bit version from the website, and upon launching it and opening preferences, I saw that vinyl control was enabled and sure enough, I was able to get it to work fantastically with some Serato vinyl.
So, the question is - did I find a bug? Should I be filing a bug report? It seems like this is unintended behavior but I want to rule out any mistakes I might've made before I go claiming there's a problem with the code. I looked through the FAQ, this forum, the manual, and Google, but I didn't see anything that seemed to match what I found, but of course I might've missed it.
Many thanks!
