Mixxx kills my second monitor for visuals

Postby jesseboyd » Sun Feb 05, 2012 11:06 pm

Big fan of Mixxx, thanks coders!

One problem, when I turn on Mixxx it kills my second monitor that I use for visuals.

My system:
Linux Mint on a presario laptop.
Digital Projector connect to VGA output.

Projector displays as a second monitor until I turn on Mixxx then it does not show up. How can I fix this as I need to play projectM along with Mixxx. As a side note it is really hard to sync projectM to Mixxx I can get it to work playing with pulse audio but I actually don't know what the proper settings are.

Does this happen even if Mixxx isn't in full screen mode?

Okay, thank you for that information. Can you also tell us what Qt version you have installed? Run qtconfig at a console then go to help->about.

$ qtconfig
The program 'qtconfig' can be found in the following packages:
* qt3-qtconfig
* qt4-qtconfig
Try: sudo apt-get install <selected package>

Okay, then do
Code: Select all
dpkg -l |grep 'qt4'
They should say the version numbers.

i have been wasting a lot of f'n time trying to get pulseaudio to work with mixxx and projectM and i think i finally SOLVED this bit#ch. i went to users and groups and made sure that i checked my user name in audio and anything that had pulse in it. hope that saves some of you some time.
