Hi,
i had trouble with activating mp3 recording/streaming too at first. My suggestion is to remove all lame related files from the mixxx directory and start over. My little tutorial explains in detail how to activate mp3 recording/streaming for Windows. If followed step by step you´ll start recording in about 5 minutes.

Odd, did you use the correct 32bit version (x86) and not the 64bit ? Additionally i found that Mixxx got sometimes confused when lame_enc.dll and libmp3lame.dll are present in Mixxx root folder. If you are on 32bit Windows remove your lame files and try the lame_enc.dll that work for me in C:\Program Files\Mixxx\lame_enc.dll

I´m out of ideas.
You could add your Mixxx version and windows version so someone might be able to help out.

Hi vaerospace,

Are you on 32-bit or 64-bit Windows?

Here's how to check:
Click Start, type system in the Start Search box, and then click system in the Programs list.
The operating system is displayed as follows:
For a 64-bit version operating system: 64-bit Operating System appears for the System type under System.
For a 32-bit version operating system: 32-bit Operating System appears for the System type under System.

Also, I saw on IRC that you said you only have 1 skin. Do you mean that there is only one skin available in the Preferences -> Interface section? That isn't usual. Did you unselect any skins while installing? Just to confirm -- you are using Mixxx downloaded from http://mixxx.org , right?

yea yet installer is indead buggy ..i re-installed mix to programfile as the default location did not suit me
lame did not work then i installed audacity in an attempt to get some form of decent automated mixing
(audacity is an UNACCEPTABLE WORKAROUND I DO NOT LIKE OR WANT) and nstalled the lame drivers
for audacity and hey presto the mixxx lame driver suddenly started working GO FIGURE HEY ???
anyway this is the forst of many bugs to fixx before mixxx see's and commercial use ...

other bugs include

!. no resize on the interface
2. synch button causes sound glitch
2, no delete recording in the interface

ALSO features needed ,
1. scraching
2. video playback and mixer and effects like vitual dj (it's 2012 not 1978 peeps)

and many many many more more
