LAME mp3 issues

I have been trying for 2 weeks now to get the LAME download to work to broadcast on Caster.fm. I have been getting nothing but error messages. I followed the directions to a tee but to no avail. So I am wondering if I am downloading corectly or if I am not placing the file in the correct folder, or what the deal is.

I went thru that tutorial. Thats the first one I did and it did not work.

Please include the following information in your post about your Mixxx setup:
*What is your Operating system (platform, version number, distribution version, etc.)
*What version of Mixxx you're running
*The exact error messages
*Anything else you think might be important

I am running the latest version of Windows 7 on the newest HP laptop Pavillion dv7, I tried both versions of MIxxx, the error message I continue to get is "MIXXX COULD NOT CONNECT TO STREAMING SERVER" and "MIXXX CANNOT RECORD OR STREAM IN MP3 WITHOUT THE MP3 ENCODER "LAME". DUE TO LICENSING ISSUES, WE CANNOT INCLUDE THIS WITH MIXXX. TO RECORD OR STREAM IN MP3, YOU MUST DOWNLOAD "lame_enc.dll" AND INSTALL IT ON YOUR SYSTEM."
I have done this as per the directions. I also had issues opening the zip file (took me 10 tries and 8 different zip programs) but was finally able to do it. It still does not work.

Hi colofilmmaker1001 : sorry to ask a dumb question but are you on 64-bit or 32-bit Windows 7? Did you make sure to pick the appropriate zip file to download for your system based on that?

If you did that, then please open C:\Program Files\Mixxx\ (or wherever you installed Mixxx) in Windows Explorer. Can you take a screenshot of that folder and post it here?

Hey there. I cannot get the print screen to work. The program is downloaded to the Programs86x folder. My computer is running 64 bit version of Windows.
Let me know if you need any more info.

If Mixxx is installed to the x86 Program Files folder then it sounds like you installed the 32-bit version of Mixxx. In this case you should make sure you install the 32-bit version of LAME even though your computer is running a 64-bit version of Windows.
