Numark N4 and Mixxx

Postby spapa » Sun Apr 15, 2012 3:04 pm

Hi all! I just bought the Numark controller N4 beautiful and I must say that it is going great with the supplied software (Virtual DJ and Serato DJ intro) with both MIXXX. The only thing I do not really like (with mixx) is that the LEDs of the controller are all on ... I mean .. As with virtual dj turn on and off when you use them (eg if I move the pitch to 0 the light comes on) with mixx not happen. Believe you can also set the LEDs to perfection? Another question .. I can not set the jog properly .. If I use the search function (no scratch) has a tendency to scratch the jog (at the touch of the jog) function instead .. if I put Scratch, scratch, but there is always a sensitivity high! .. and not suitable.
Finally .. if septal the crossfade type of cut does not scratch it closes with a clean cut ... but simple ... but with no other software.
Will you help me? :-)))))

1- You can adjust the crossfader curve in the preferences to your liking.
2- You can tune the jog wheels by mapping them to script functions that perform some function on the input values to get values to feed to Mixxx's scratch2 control.
3- Scripting also allows full LED control.

OK THANK YOU. But there is a problem .. I set it to scratch the jog mapping scripts .. but as I move very little jog I have a feeling absurd ... not real.

If you're using the engine.scratch* functions, you will need to play with the values for revs/rotation, alpha, and beta.

ok .. still can not set the scratch so that I would giusto.Io mode cd do not scratch and does that and how vinily scratch and instead how touch the jog (as touch) the fast track. Furthermore, the LEDs of my console can not behave like other software .. in mixxx are all on whether or not I press them I hit them .. but I would like (for example) that when I bring the pitch to zero, the corresponding LED lights on my console.
Further question .. there is an effect filter (low pass and hipass) in the Mixx? or else only the flanger?

THANKS!!!

Mixxx only has the flanger right now, but with a script function you can simulate a filter by varying the cutoff frequency of the EQ knobs.

For the LEDs on your controller, your best bet is to contact Numark support and ask for the MIDI spec.

Yeah, getting scratching just right is not easy, unfortunately. I have plans to add something for it into the MIDI wizard but it may have to wait until v1.11.1.
