I'm having this problem as well. In between the window for mixxx coming up and the gui itself loading you get a series of error messages. I'm running XP SP3 with a dual-core processor and and 8800GT using the newest 182.08 drivers with OpenGL 3.0. Does Mixxx only run with opengl 2.0?

Hey jvix,
i have the same computercomponents! Also the 8800GT with the same driver, my CPU is a AMD X2 6000+ on an Asus motherboard. Maybe it is a hardware bug. Is there an older Version of Mixxx than 1.6.1?
I will try to install an older videocard driver, maybe its working.

Have you guys tried any other OpenGL application?

I'm not sure if OpenGL 3.0-enabled drivers are backwards compatible with OpenGL 2.0 applications like Mixxx....

I am also experiencing this issue. Reverting back to the GeForce 178 drivers resolved my issue:

I guess that I didn't point out that I was using the 178.24 drivers first, but upgraded to 182.08 to see if it would fix the problem. I have no issues on any games at all that use any version of OpenGL. I'm also sincerely hoping that this isn't a new hardware problem (I've been using mix for about 2 years now) and that I will never be able to use it again, as it is a very fun program and I use it an awful lot. I've had to put my mixing on hold because Audacity just doesn't cut it for me. I'm totally stuck please help! I've tried reinstalling motherboard drivers and audio drivers to no avail!

jivix: I thought the_S3B just said that installing the 181.22 drivers fixed his problem for him (even newer than the ones you tried). Try those and see?

Boy, I've tried just about everything now. I've tried every nvidia driver I've ever used, to no avail. Also, recently I just got a GTX 260, which is a huge improvement over my old 8800gt. However the problem still occurs with the old drivers as well as the new 182.5 drivers. I think the problem is with openGL and not the nvidia drivers... I am going to also try reinstalling the motherboard drivers as well. I've also made sure to update directx as well as windows and I am using the latest versions of everything.

Update: Even reinstalling motherboard drivers didn't help!

I solved it by setting "OpenGL version string overide" to 1.5 in RivaTuner (graphic card utility).
Think its due to a new driver version. (My Nvidia driver is version 182.50)
