USB Sound Card plus USB Mic

I'm using a Turtle Beach USB sound card with my Gateway MX-8738 laptop, running Mixxx 1.7.

If I add a USB mic, such as the oft-reviewed and highly rated Logitech $30 model, will the signal
from the USB mic make it through the computer to the output of the USB Turtle Beach card, alongside
the Mixxx signal? Does anyone know before I purchase a USB mic?

That's up to the OS's mixer. If you enable the mic for Playback, it will come out the master. To have this overlay with Mixxx also depends on the OS mixing its sounds with Mixxx's output. In many cases, Mixxx takes exclusive control of the sound card, in which case it won't work. (Audio pass-through is being discussed for a future version of Mixxx.)

I'm running Vista Home Premium (32).

If I plug in the Turtle Beach card and run Mixxx through it, and plug a mic into the
computer's mic jack, and take the mute off the speakers in the system mixer
panel, the audio from the mic emanates from the computer's built-in speakers,
(and therefore also the earphone jack on the computer),
while the Mixxx audio goes through the Turtle Beach Card.

If the usb mic ended up not passing through the Turtle Beach card, would it end
up going through the built-in speakers again, or would it MAYBE go through the
T.B. card? (Or maybe get lost entirely?)

Possibly. Can you see/select the T.B. card in the Windows mixer? If not, it might be ASIO-only. If you can see it, try playing around with different combinations. You might have to change the default output device in Audio in the Control panel to the T.B. card and set Mixxx to use "default sound device" available under the DirectSound API.
