This is my current mapping for the Hercules E2. Everything works, including scratching. It does have a slight problem. The scratch speed varies with the tracks position. I still haven't figured out how to solve this exactly.

@madjester: your mapping contains a reference to a file named "midi-scratch-lib.js", which is not present on my system, bzr trunk or the internet (I tried googling for it). Could you please include it? I am eager to try your mod on my freshly bought MP3 E2.

Sorry about that. I will post it as soon as I get home. FYI, that file is just a wraparound the scratch.* JS functions made by Pegasus.

Edit: here is the file. The file is a refactoring of Pegasus' scratch.* functions but with support for controllers that support two or more decks.

Hi! I have tested your midi config but in my opinion the jog config isn't yet useful. The play rate adjustment isn't proportional to the jog rotation speed and i think that this issue can be solved only with the future midi script timer feauture.
The Hercules MP3 e2 send 128 midi messages every one jog revolution, therefore to know the angular speed of the jog rotation we should count how many messages arrived in a fixed time interval and adjust the playblack rate consequently. But i think this will be possible only with the future timer script feature.
Anyone has others ideas?

For the moment I'm quite content with the level of support for the jog wheel. Then again I never was a terrible fan of pitch bending with jog wheels (except on pioneer CDJ's...) and I also see other things I'd like to improve first. If you want to try to improve it using script timers you can. Just check out a copy of the scriptTimers branch:

You may not have noticed, but scratching is also somewhat deficient. The algorithms used by scratchdeck.* (which are copied from scratch.*) seem to be time based, ie: the rate or speed of scratching varies throughout a track. This might be due to the parameters I am passing to scratchdeck though for alpha, beta and revtime.
