Mac OSX; Mixxx 1.6.1; Mixman DM2

Hi, I'm new to this board. I am so glad to see an open-source DJ mixing solution and a great community of developers. It is very inspiring.

I'm trying to get a DM2 to work with Mixxx. I'm using Joe Matiello's OSX DM2 driver in Mixxx mode. I have a 2008-vintage 2.6ghz MacBook Pro running Leopard.

I can get to a point where Mixxx clearly recognizes the controller, and the crossfader works fine. As soon as I touch the scratch ring, however, the playing audio file starts playing in one direction at hyperspeed, and I can't stop it. When I say hyperspeed I mean 30-45 seconds to go through an entire song. This happens on both channels. I have to quit the program at that point.

What I find strange is that the freeware program "Midi Monitor" shows MIDI information that looks relatively smooth. When I touch the scratch ring, it sends values above 64 for the forward direction, slowing to and ending with 64 when I stop touching the scratch ring, for example. So I think something must be up with the way the program is interpreting the MIDI information it receives.

I'd love to test earlier versions of Mixxx but I don't know where to find them.

I suppose I haven't tested enough MP3 files to confirm that this is a recurrent problem no matter what type of soundfile I use. If anyone else can recommend other ways I can test this setup I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm intrigued by using my old DM2 with Mixxx!

Thanks for your help.

The "Mixman DM2" patch in Mixxx I believe is for the Windows DM2MIDI software. My driver is setup to work with the Linux patch from here http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... _id=593195
My testing has been limited but successful.

This should probably be included in the next release of Mixxx, filed a bug report for it.

I have the same issue right now, but I've only downloaded Mixxx yesterday. I looked on youtube and found a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7tonj6_Oik&feature=channel with a guy using Mixxx and a dm2 to do exactly what I'd like it to do, but he was running Linux. In the comments below the video, It's mentioned that there's a mimic of the Linux driver out there, but I don't know where to get it. Any help would be very appreciated; because I had to put my setup it storage and I think this would be a great compact alternative to use in my tiny apartment!!

I am also having the same problem using the same drivers and testing methods. I thought something was wrong with the way I set it up, but it seems I'm not alone.
