I'm very happy with Mixx
The I install 2.1 to trait it, but I can open for first time, work in it, an de second time y want to open , it chash
The problen is that windows says: " there is a problem and cannot open Mixxx"
I desinstall Mixxx 2.1 and re-install 2.0, that was working OK in the past, but windows now tell me that it don't work now
I install the folder in a Penndrive and I can use 2.0 again, ( I don't know for the moment how this way will work)
If someone have some advice at this respect, wellcomed
I use linux for many years but I cannot configure jackcontrol never in the life , and I'm tired to stay hours in google looking for solutions in linux
Thanks anticipated

A serious bug that caused crashes at seemingly random times has been fixed. Builds with the fix are available from the build server. Everyone who has been using 2.1 beta is strongly advised to upgrade now.

Please tell us more about the crash.
Is there a recipe to make it crash?
Which version on which os is effected?
Is it related to a specific track?

I am using Mixxx since the release of 2.0 with an AA VMS4.1 controller and I am very happy with this setup.
Now I upgraded to Mixxx 2.1 Beta, my first impression was very good, but now I realized that the headphone buttons (gain+mix) are missing and the whole headphone function of my controller is not working at all, I get sound to the headphones only with the line faders, what makes no sense.
I tried 2.1 with the Deere skin of V2.0, the headphone buttons move there, but the routing of the decks with pfl to the headphone output is not working.
Then I went back with my old Laptop and Mixxx 2.0 - everything works fine.
Do I have a general mistake in the preferences ?
Is there a way to make the headphone buttons visible in Deere 2.1 ?

My setup: Windows 7 / Mixxx2.1 build r6514 / VMS 4.1 / Deere Skin

PS: to all the developers: GREAT JOB !
BTW: is there anyone outhere who found a way to use the samplers with VMS4 / 4.1

The fact that you say that the controller is acting differently suggests that you might have configured the audio in Mixxx in a different way. Check the Audio Hardware preferences Dialog.

As for the headphone buttons in the screen, I believe it might simply be that the option is disabled. On the top right side of the screen, theres an icon with some bars. That opens a section of options for the Deere Skin. In there you should be able to select what to show and what not.

Thank you for the quick reply !
I double checked the hardware preferences with both laptops side by side,
Mixxx 2.0 on the one and Mixxx 2.1 on the other side - no difference.
I also restarted the computer and the controller several times,
at least I deinstalled Mixxx, reinstalled it - same version - and now it works.
For the headphone buttons - sorry, there is no option to make it visible in Deere,
also in the other skins I didn´t find it.
For my purpose the visualisation is not necessary as long as the hardware buttons do the job,
but if you work with computer only setup the buttons are important.

I definitely see it for Deere on 2.1, It sits between the EQ knobs and the channel fader and has the image of a pair of headphones on it.

I think I remember reading that on upgrading Mixxx it doesn't always update the Skins correctly. Try uninstalling and then manually deleting the Skins folder if it is still present and then reinstalling.

Other than that I have no idea.....

I tried 2.1 with the Deere skin of V2.0

Um... Or are you trying to use the old skin with the new version? If so why? Don't do that!

Ok. theres some misunderstanding, I am not a native english speaker,
maybe that causes this irritation.
I see (and always saw) the pfl buttons with the headphone symbol,
but I was talking about the two knobs with the headphone GAIN and MIX
as described in the manual in >3.2.3. Headphone and Master Mix Controls<
Initially I was looking for them because my controllers headphone function was not working and I wanted to see if there is a mapping error. With the reinstallation of Mixxx this case is solved for me, my hardware knobs are working and now I can prelisten all decks and adjust the pfl/master mix and the headphone gain.
Maybe these knobs are not interesting for anybody else, but I am wondering how to handle that with a computer-only setup.
And yes, I tried to run Mixxx 2.1 with the Deere skin of 2.0 for testing and debugging purpose,
the reason was to see those knobs, they were visible and moving.
Just to say that, I am not a newbie in DJing and Mix, I use this system for years, made many modifications in controller mappings and scripts to get exactly what I need - and I am very happy with this great software.
Now I will fool around and find and test new functions,
Thanks to all developers for a reay great job
